Fundraising Requirements in Washington

Nonprofit leaders are responsible for ensuring their organization’s compliance with state regulations including those related to soliciting donations. These rules and be complex and difficult to parse out without legal training. This program, presented by team leads from the Attorney General’s Office and the Office of the Secretary of State, will address rules and requirements associated with the Charitable Solicitations Act (RCW 19.09) and other laws regulating fundraising. The program will present the various requirements in an accessible way; explain registration; discuss the benefits of free, voluntary registration; and provide instruction for how to avoid common pitfalls.
