Disabilities and Inclusion in
Philanthropy: Awareness, Self-Advocacy, and Allyship

with Anquida Adams, A.L.A Consulting Firm

Charities have a way of assisting underprivileged and underrepresented in the work they do, but the often fail to allow the communities they are working with to heal and become interdependent from the assistance they are providing.

This session will provide insights on the Disability community, its complexities, and how those in fundraising and philanthropy can become aware of the intersection of disability, and how we can assist with advocating and creating space for the community.

Participants will:

  • increase understanding of the terms Disability and Inclusion
  • discover ways to join hands to support individuals with disabilities and create more awareness
  • explore ways to assist advocating alongside individuals with disabilities while creating space for them to represent themselves
